About When We’re Older (Past Lives):
This piece was originally named “Past Lives” after watching the film on a flight home to Pennsylvania. I cried softly in my seat as I knew it was time to mourn someone still living.
I won’t ruin it for you, but it comforted me that we’re all here for so many different reasons, and that no matter where life takes you, the people in it are there for a reason — whether you’re ready for them or not. This piece was a letting go in gratitude and awe. A reverence for what was and is, and what will be. It was painted while listening to “When We’re Older” by James Blake on repeat.
