I painted this knowing it would be destroyed. There’s something about that that makes you hold it differently, or maybe just let it go sooner.
This piece carries memory—of people, of past versions of myself, of what could have been, and of what could be. All we have is now, and who we are now is built from every person who has loved us and who we’ve loved back.
